I have now packed full every moving box I own, so the movers will have plenty to take over the The Wife’s apartment, henceforth Our apartment. Both cats have had their claws clipped, although the plan is that they will not encounter each other face to face for a week or more. Still, better to be prepared.
Movers appear at 9:00 a.m. PDT tomorrow and move until no more to move. That will leave quite a bit in my current apartment, either for tag sale or to be moved later by me. But the next few days will be an orgy of unpacking, finding places for things, and doubtless much discarding.
I did make a fresh batch of grub to tide me over the next few days: the greens are red cabbage (half a head) and escarole (a full large “head”); the protein is extra-firm tofu; the starch is Barilla Plus penne; and the usual vegetables including a can of diced tomatoes along with the slivered dried tomatoes and also spring onion, garlic, celery, zucchini, a diced whole lemon, and dried black Chinese mushrooms). Hungarian half-sharp paprika and almost all of a small jar of chili-garlic paste to give it some zing, along with soy sauce and some sherry vinegar. It’s quite tasty, in fact, and will tide me over for a few days.
l know this is a personal question, so don’t answer if you don’t want to. I’m curious, you seemed to have the perfect living arrangement prior to your decision to move so why the change? Personally I vowed never to get married again some 15 years ago, then I met my wife and we’ve just enjoyed our 10th wedding anniversary! We both seem to “fit” each other perfectly which 15 years ago I would have said was a figment of peoples imagination.

It just seemed time to downsize and economize. And The Wife and I enjoy much compatibility, so I foresee no serious problems in the transition, just some learning and adjustment.

Compromise and not being too fussy. Also maintaining some “self” space. Don’t both try and cook at the same time and keep your sense of humour not taking life too seriously!! Keep laughing! Best of luck for your future in the same appartment together I find it’s quite nice to be able to share things as they happen.
